Finally...the results of The 10th Anniversary, 10K Book Campaign

A little over a year ago, I announced the 10th Anniversary, 10k Book Campaign. This event was to celebrate the 10th anniversary of my debut novel, SUGAR....as well as garner support and readership - not only for me - but dozens and dozens of other Af-Am authors who live and barely scrape by beneath the radar of mainstream readership. So many of you (many more who had already purchased a copy of Sugar in previous years) went out an purchased another copy. Still others purchased a number of copies and distributed them as gift to family and friends. All of this is solidarity for Af-Am authors.

This campaign led me to compile a newsletter which profiled authors from the African diaspora, in hopes that I could do my part in spreading the word about these beautifully talented literary Queens and Kings.

I want to thank all of you for expressing your solidarity with Af-Am authors. And whether you purchased a book or simply passed the word along - believe me WE ARE ALL VERY GRATEFUL!

So, based on the last two royalty statements I received, between Oct 2009 and June 2010, SUGAR has sold 1,895 units. This number includes digital and book form.

So, I did not meet my 10K goal..but I certainly sold more units of SUGAR than I sold in previous years since the initial publication.

I had hoped to meet or exceed my goal, but I am grateful for what I did sell, and continue to sell.

The thing to do is focus on what you have...not what you don't have.

I remain....encouraged.........

Others purchased more than one. And still others purchased
