Congrats to you on finding a home for your "baby".
As a self-published author, the support of other authors both self-published and mainstream, is so important to me. Likewise, I try to be the same way. In my view, if the sky's the limit, then there's enough room for everybody right?

What a beautiful, beautiful post Bernice! Congratulations to you and the other authors who stand by this creed. It is so disappointing to see authors tear each other down.

A special congrats on finding a home for Glorious too. I will definitely be looking forward to the release. And I'm also happy to hear MJH will continue to bring her fans more stories.

Hadn't heard about Glorious! What wonderful news! We are thrilled for you. We often use your story and your blogged rejection letters when we are talking to readers about the state of AA Lit. "If an amazing writer like Bernice can't get a deal for her literary fiction..." Now we'll have to modify the example--and that makes us happy!! And we understand what Margaret Johnson Hodge was talking about--and say all the time "It's hard out here for a writer..." I (Virginia) thought about quitting back in 2005, but Donna wouldn't let me. Frustration with the "new direction" "they" wanted us to go was the main reason. The game has changed so much and sadly, not for the better, especially for us. But enough bitching. So happy for you! WooHoo!!

I have to say as a new author I have met 2 authors that have made constant attempts to hurl insults and block opportunities for reasons that are unknown to me. STRANGE!

But more importantly, I have met a ton of fabulous angels who are authors, and publishers and artist who have shined and showed the way.

I make every attempt to show love to authors especially newbies (newer than me *hee hee*)
I had a rocky start and I believe it wasn't for me! it was for the knowledge and the even the labor pains so I can that I can provide a kind word, share a resource, buy a book! and maybe help somebody...

I know what it feels like to lose your melody - i never want to be on the sending end of that...
